| Details: 15th – 16th October TRAX Trip – Cullen Bullen to Capertee |
Meeting at Lithgow Maccas at 9:00 for a 9:30 start on Thursday 15th, we’ll head up to Cullen Bullen along the Castlereagh Highway then turn left towards Portland. After a few km’s we’ll turn right onto the dirt and start our adventure.
There is a variety of easier/harder options along the tracks as we make our way to cross Williwa Creek which is normally barely more than ‘puddle’ depth.
After crossing the creek, we’ll head south along Dark Corner Mountain Trail until we merge into The Pinnacle Firetrail. We’ll follow this along, crossing the Turon River several times, maybe up to your door sills, until we get to our overnight campsite at The Diggings; https://www.nationalparks.nsw.gov.au/camping-and-accommodation/campgrounds/the-diggings-campground
Note: A park fire ban is in place in this park and remains in effect unless otherwise extended or removed. During park fire ban periods, all campfire and solid fuel (wood, heat beads, charcoal, briquettes, hexamine) barbecues and stoves are prohibited. Gas and electric barbecues and cookers are permitted.
Depending on everyone’s time constraints for Friday, we may potter around the various trails within Turon National Park, but there is the option to get out early too if required via Capertee.
See you on the tracks
