Driver Training: Saturday 17th March 2012

Driver Training:
Saturday 17th March 2012

After requests from our club members, the Trax committee has arranged a 4WD Driver Training Day for March 2012.
This will be a great opportunity to gain some valuable training and experience and to ensure that you are up to date with the latest safety procedures.

The training and assessment activities are done either at Eastern Creek 4WD track or (more likely) at Lidsdale State Forest west of Lithgow.
The assessment comprises of a theory exam followed by practical demonstrations by the candidate.
The theory exam is done by the candidate prior to the assessment of competency in the candidates’ own time.

The cost of the assessment is $50 per candidate.
On successful completion of the assessment, candidates are issued with a certificate of nationally recognised competency in ”Drive & Recover a 4WD Vehicle SRODRV001B and its associated unit Plan Outdoor Recreation Activities SROODR002A”.

The Training Day will be much like a normal Trax Trip but will be led by an assessor from the Driver Training Unit of  Four Wheel Drive NSW & ACT.
You will need a 4WD with a full tank of fuel, Your own lunch and you will need to book in early so that we can give you the theory work that needs to be completed prior to the 7th of March.

Passengers are allowed to come along on the day and only candidates need to pay the $50.00.
You can also have multiple candidates per vehicle if you and your spouse both want to get accredited.

Please let us know by the 4th Feburary 2012 if you are interested in attending so that we can confirm the booking with the Associations DTU.
