Details: Saturday April 18th-21st TRAX trip – Cobar |
Easter very long weekend! That is, from Good Friday until Easter Monday; 4 days
of helping a country church to grow. TRAX has been invited to come and assist a country church that has until recently, been without a Minister for over 20 years! 712 km (442 mi) by road northwest of Sydney. Which will make it an 8- hour drive. It is at the crossroads of the Kidman Way and Barrier Highway. The town and the local government area, the Cobar Shire, are on the eastern edge of the outback. The town of Cobar has a population of approx. 3,990. The Shire has a population of approximately 4,700 and
an area of 44,065 square kilometres.
Let us introduce to you the
Rev. James and Mrs Brittany Daymond.
They have been working in this Parish now since early last year. Cobar is a huge parish as seen by the stats and James can’t possibly hope to get to meet many of the ‘locals’ since some of them live up to 100kms away from Cobar town.
Thus, the invitation to TRAX. We have been invited and asked to assist in visiting people who live and work on properties that can be almost 100kms from town. To visit with an invitation and warm greetings from the Church and Minister and his wife.
The Daymond’s write: ….” We are praying for God to soften the hearts of tthe people of Cobar and are seeking to share the Good news of Jesus. The principal form of outreach that we are using is through ‘Outreach Visiting’” …. – and that is what TRAX has been invited to share in; to go out to many of the outlying properties, some of which are almost 100kms from the town with some literature about the Church and to give people (who are often quite lonely) an invitation to come and share in the good news as it is presented. Please register your interest ASAP if you would like to be involved.
See you on the tracks
