TRAX Training – Trip Leader Theory

TRAX Training – Trip Leader Theory

28th February 9am to 5pm.

Trax has decided to develop a Trip Leader program to assist aspirant leaders become trip leaders as we need more trips to fill the calendar. Aspirant leaders should have completed previous group trips in a club and had recently completed some theoretical training on how to operate a 4WD vehicle and assist others by spotting. The final part of the training program will be to lead a “mentored trip” under guidance of an experienced trip leader – usually someone from the TRAX committee (more on this below).

Relevant documents will be worked through such as the “Trip Leader Guidelines” and the “Trip Leader Checklist” ,and we will share useful insights regarding trip leader responsibilities, radio etiquette, documentation and challenges, the trip participants register, medical form, the tracks to be driven, convoy order, UHF radio use and pre-trip vehicle inspections, and chaplaincy.

This event will be an inaugural event and from which a leaders course specific to TRAX will be developed.

See you on the tracks
