This is a camping weekend at Polblue campground in the Barrington Tops – West side. Polblue serves as the ultimate base camp on the Barrington Tops plateau, providing immediate access to high-altitude wetlands, 4WD tracks, and subalpine lookouts. Centred around Polblue Campground, you can arrange your trips by short walks, challenging multi-day hikes, 4WD exploration, or scenic day-driving loops.

The Barrington Trail offers Seasonal 4WD touring route (Open strictly between October and May).Starting Point: Located on the right, just 1km past the Polblue Campground entrance. Highlights: Deeply remote forest access leading to pristine high-country rivers, secluded fishing spots, and rugged campsites like Junction Pools and Little Murray.

4WD Adventures: If you’re an off-road enthusiast, Barrington Tops has plenty of tracks and trails to explore. The rugged terrain and stunning vistas make it a thrilling destination for 4WD enthusiasts.

Wildlife Watching: The park has abundant wildlife, including wallabies, possums, koalas, and many bird species, including eagles, cockatoos and owls. Keep your camera ready as you explore the trails, and you may spot some of these enchanting creatures in their natural habitat.

Stargazing: Barrington Tops is renowned for its clear skies and minimal light pollution, making it an ideal spot for stargazing. On a clear night, the Milky Way and countless stars light up the sky, providing a mesmerising celestial show.

Camping: Camping or cabins are fantastic options for those who wish to immerse themselves fully in the natural beauty of Barrington Tops. Riverwood Downs is located in the foothills of the Barrington Tops and is a central location for your base camp to explore the Barrington Tops region.

Fishing and Picnicking: The park’s rivers and streams are perfect for fishing, and the lush, green surroundings provide an excellent setting for a picnic with family and friends.

Heritage Sites: Discover the area’s rich history by visiting heritage sites like Polblue Hut and Carey’s Peak, which provide insight into the early European settlers’ way of life in Barrington Tops.

Entry likely Scone through Moonan Flats ie West Side, and leave heading East via Gloucester.
